So as it would obviously appear, my pictures can no longer be viewed.
Photobucket has banned my account, which I've been using since I created the blog in September of 2007. This came as a major blow for me. There's nothing I can do to bring the pictures back.
What grinds my gears about this whole thing is that it's all about money and recognition. Maybe it's just me, but this whole concept is ridiculous. These big sites want you to buy pictures, but they won't let you register unless you're some huge recognizable conglomerate or heavily-viewed website, even if you are willing to pay. I make absolutely NO money from writing this blog. I do this because I love sharing my opinions and the stuff that I find. These killjoys aren't just depriving me of my happiness, they're depriving everyone who invests an interest in sharing their knowledge and opinions. I don't understand why we all can't just be adults about this. I mean, isn't sharing a lesson we learned in preschool. Does nobody watch Sesame Street anymore?
In the words of my dear friend, I've been shut down by "the man."
Where I will go from here, I'm not sure yet.

ReplyDeleteWhy don't you just upload your pics via blogger itself? No relying on 3rd party image hosting sites then!
ReplyDeleteDid you contact Photobucket about the issue? If they aren't helping then I guess there's no way but to get those pics, save it on ur pc and then upload them again (via blogger this time).

If you want to keep your blog at this address, have you thought about re-uploading your pics to a hosting site like imageshack.us or tinypic.com? I don't think you will be able to keep your photos in a personal album, like on photobucket or flickr, but if the photo agencies complain again they won't be able to just wipe out your album in one shot, they'll have to complain to the hosting site about each photo individually. If they're gonna be jerks about it, may as well make them work. I dunno, just a thought.
